The Seattle Seahawks will be without two top pass catchers on Sunday. Wide receiver DK Metcalf and tight end Noah Fant are out for Week 9’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Metcalf will miss his second straight game due to a Grade 1 MCL sprain suffered in Week 7. Although Metcalf did not suffer a setback this week, head coach Mike Macdonald said the star receiver “just needs more time” to recover.
“We’ve been talking about it for the whole time now, but he just needs more time,” Macdonald told reporters after practice on Friday. “There was nothing that he could have done differently, we just need more time for him so that’s what is best for him and the team.”
Metcalf still leads the Seahawks in receiving yards with 568.
Fant is out with a groin injury that he suffered this week during practice. The severity of the injury is still yet to be determined, though it likely won’t require an IR stint.
“Noah hurt his groin in practice on Wednesday I believe, so he’s going to need some time and will be out this week,” said Macdonald. “It’s going to be some time. We don’t anticipate him being on IR, but we are unsure of his availability after the bye right now.”
Fant has 27 catches for 285 yards in eight games this season.

The Seahawks (4-4) host the Rams (3-4) on Sunday afternoon in a massive NFC West showdown.
The NFC West standings resemble a logjam, with the Arizona Cardinals (4-4) and San Francisco 49ers (4-4) tied for first with the Seahawks.
It’s anyone’s division, and it may come down to which team is the healthiest come December.
