UCSF Fresno was created as a graduate medical education campus of UC San Francisco in 1975 with support from the state legislature and Veterans Administration to address physician shortages in the Valley.
Today, UCSF Fresno is a regional campus of UCSF and the largest physician-training program between San Francisco and Sacramento and Los Angeles. In line with UCSF’s mission of advancing human health, UCSF Fresno is focused on improving health in the region through excellence in medical education, providing outstanding patient care, conducting innovative clinical research, and giving back to the community.
