Deommodore Lenoir has become an important piece of the San Francisco 49ers’ defense. The 49ers recognized that importance by giving him a new deal.
The cornerback and the 49ers have agreed to a five-year, $92 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
The fourth-year player is one of the team’s most consistent and versatile players, he has played out wide and in the slot. The former Oregon Ducks’ star has posted 53 tackles, a forced fumble and two interceptions while starting in all nine games this season. Lenoir has elevated his game after a breakout season in 2023, when he had 84 tackles, 10 pass breakups and three interceptions – all career-highs – in 2023.
A fifth-round pick (No. 172) in the 2021 NFL draft, Lenior will earn an average annual salary of $18.4MM under the extension, a big jump from the $3.116 million in base salary he’s making for the 2024 season.
