BLEAV in Bills: NBC’s Devin McCourty shares insight on Josh Allen
Former Patriots star safety and current NBC Sunday Night Football analyst Devin McCourty joins Sal Maiorana and Adam Benigni to preview Bills vs 49ers.
ORCHARD PARK – The last time we saw Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills’ QB was doing a fine impression of a slalom skier as he maneuvered his way through the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense for a game-clinching 26-yard TD run a couple Sundays ago.
It was one of the best plays of the NFL season, and by the time he reached the celebration in the locker room, his MVP stock had soared.
That game against Kansas City drew the largest TV audience of the NFL season and according to CBS, excluding Thanksgiving games, it was the fourth-most watched regular season game dating back to 1988.
Now Allen returns to prime time and Sunday Night Football which is the most visible game each week in the league, another chance to put on a show for any of the voters who may be watching, as the Bills host the San Francisco 49ers.
This is the fifth time the Bills are playing in prime-time this year and they are 3-1, though the loss did come in their only other SNF appearance, a 35-10 beatdown in Baltimore. Last year, it was seven prime-time games for Buffalo and it went 4-3 including 2-1 on SNF.
Since 2020, Buffalo’s 24 prime-time games are third-most in the league, and its 17 victories under the lights are second-most.
