Fashion designer Kristin Juszczyk launched her long-awaited sportswear line Tuesday.
Juszczyk, the wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback and Cloverleaf grad Kyle Juszczyk, partnered with businesswoman Emma Grede to create Off Season, an NFL licensed sports apparel brand in conjunction with the league and Fanatics.
According to Sports Business Journal, the debut collection includes pieces featuring the 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. Items include the popular puffer jackets that helped put Juszczyk on the map ($375 and up), puffer vests ($295 and up) and long coats ($495 and up).
The merchandise will be available for purchase online at OffSeasonBrand.com, NFLshop.com, Fanatics.com and the participating teams’ sites.
Taylor Swift moment that changed everything
During the 2023 NFL season, Taylor Swift, who’s dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick, famously wore Juszczyk’s puffer coat creations of their men’s jerseys to a game. The style quickly set social media a blaze.
Funny enough, Olympian Simone Biles donned a vest version in support of her husband Jonathan Owens just a few weeks prior when he still played for the Green Bay Packers, but Swifties sure know how to create a social media storm.
Since then, other athletes and celebs have gotten their hands on their own custom pieces by Juszczyk. From Juszczyk‘s husband’s 49ers teammate Deebo Samuel wearing a Brock Purdy vest to actor Taylor Lautner sporting a Detroit Lions jacket.
Deal struck with NFL
Fans weren’t the only ones who were impressed with Juszczyk’s work. The NFL soon reached out and struck a licensing in deal with Juszczyk in January 2024 so that she could use official NFL logos on future designs.
More about Off Season, the NFL sportswear brand
In an interview with Essence magazine, Juszczyk said Off Season was born out of her desire to elevate NFL fan apparel into something unique.
“For years, I’ve been reimagining what team pride can look like, but seeing the incredible response from other players’ wives, celebrity fans and everyday supporters showed me this could be something bigger,” she said.
Grede added that Off Season gives fans the chance to merge fashion and fandom.
“This debut collection is just the beginning, and we’re thrilled to share our vision for redefining fan apparel with the world. We can’t wait to reveal what’s next as we continue to expand and innovate this category,” Grede said.
Who is Emma Grede?
Grede is mostly known as the CEO and co-founder of Good American alongside Khloé Kardashian and as the chief product officer and a founding partner of SKIMS with Kim Kardashian. Off Season is the latest addition to the fashion business area of her impressive resume.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, Grede co-founded a plant-based cleaning and self-care product brand called Safely with Kris Jenner and Chrissy Teigen.
She also serves as the chairwoman of the Fifteen Percent Pledge, a non-profit organization that encourages retailers to pledge at least 15% of their shelf space to Black-owned businesses.
