Australian early-stage venture capital firm Galileo Ventures has announced it is opening an office in San Francisco to better support Australian founders expanding into the US market.
“We strongly believe that Aussie founders shouldn’t be without an Australian venture option in the Valley at the seed stages,” said James Alexander, general partner at Galileo Ventures.
“I like to say we back emerging founders who view Australia as a suburb of Silicon Valley — physically far but competitively close,” Alexander added. “We are following the needs of our founders in our expansion choice.”
The firm specialises in pre-seed to seed investments, providing up to $500,000 to first-time founders building technology for global market, often before other investors get involved.
