Cincinnati Reds: Hunter Greene discusses March 5 outing vs. Texas Rangers
Hunter Greene tossed four scoreless innings against the Texas Rangers.
GOODYEAR, Arizona − The Cincinnati Reds (6-6-1) were to host the San Francisco Giants at Goodyear Ballpark on Friday (3:05 p.m. ET), but the game was canceled because of persistent rain.
Reds right-handed pitcher Nick Martinez, who already had a solid outing against the Giants Feb. 23, was scheduled to be opposed by righty Keaton Winn.
Earlier Friday, Reds manager Terry Francona said Martinez would occupy the No. 3 position in Cincinnati’s initial rotation to begin the regular season.
Friday was chilly with on-and-off rain in Goodyear, and more rain was expected.
The Cincinnati Reds batting order vs. San Francisco Giants
The lineup the Reds were set to use against the Giants could be seen as a possible Opening Day lineup, with the exception of Tyler Stephenson catching and Jeimer Candelario in the lineup somewhere in place of backup catcher Jose Trevino.
