The 7 US Airports With Airbus A380 & Boeing 747 Passenger Flights
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Just one in every 26 long-haul passenger flights to the US

will be on an Airbus A380

or Boeing 747

this year, down from one in 10 before the pandemic in 2019. The findings are based on analyzing every service using Cirium Diio data. Of course, technological developments, the popularity of much more efficient twinjets, and the pandemic mean these things are unsurprising.

Seven US airports will see both types between April and December: Boston, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, San Francisco, and Washington Dulles.

The World’s Shortest Airbus A380 Flight Will End In May

Asiana has made four big changes to its A380 network.

If all US flights aboard the two types are considered between April and December 2025, they will collectively have between 28 and 39 daily takeoffs. While subject to change, the highest figure of 39 will only occur on May 3, May 31, and June 21.

Big Changes To The USA’s Boeing 747 Passenger Flights This Summer

The country has 9% more 747-operated passenger flights than last summer.

Eight airlines will fly the A380 to the country:

Three airlines will fly the 747: Air China (whose jumbos have returned to Washington Dulles and will do so to New York JFK), Korean Air (the 747 returns to New York JFK in late October), and Lufthansa (the type is back on Frankfurt-Boston, among other changes).

Interestingly, the above changes mean that US A380 services have fallen compared to the same months in 2024. In contrast, 747 flights have risen, albeit only because of the 747-8i rather than the older 747-400.
