WASHINGTON (7News) — This Women’s History Month, women in technology can find connections with other women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at a free event in Washington, D.C.
On Monday, the D.C. chapter of Google’s Women Techmakers Program will host a celebration with speakers and panels on various technology topics.
“[We’re] creating a space for those who are technical leaders to connect, so that way they know they’re not alone,” Chapter co-founder Monica Kang said. “And the non-technical artists know that they can learn about it, but also have a bridge to continue their learning.”
The venue will be shared with guests as they RSVP closer to the event date.
The panelists are top business leaders from multiple industries, talking about artificial intelligence, leadership, and how to transition to a tech career at any stage of life.
“Maybe a business and finance background, or maybe I come from a theatre background, or like, I come from an environmental background, is that still a career in tech that I can build,” Kang said. “We have panelists who’re going to share it.”
“This is about challenging yourself, having some platform, and grabbing that opportunity,” Chapter co-founder Megha Sanghvi said. “Maybe there is learning, and if we can do it, anyone else can do it as well.”
