The San Francisco 49ers are rewarding George Kittle with a record-setting contract extension. According to reports, the 49ers and Kittle have agreed to a four-year deal worth $76.4 million, making him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history at $19.1 million per year. Kittle also gets $40 million guaranteed on his new contract.
Will Compton and Taylor Lewan of “Bussin’ With The Boys” were the first to report the news.

Since he was drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round in 2017, Kittle has made the Pro Bowl six times, been voted a first-team All-Pro twice and put up huge numbers as a receiver in San Francisco’s offense.
In eight seasons, he has 538 receptions for 7,380 yards and 45 touchdowns. He’s been the team’s leading receiver three times (2018,2019, 2024) in that span, showing what a productive player he’s been for the 49ers.
Back in 2020, Kittle signed a five-year, $75 million extension with the 49ers. He was entering the final year of that deal in 2025, which is why San Francisco wanted to extend him this offseason before he could hit free agency next year.

With Kittle’s deal done, the 49ers can now turn their attention to Brock Purdy, who is eligible for an extension.
