Season series: Red Sox lead 1-0
The Red Sox picked up a 7-5 win in the series opener Friday night in San Francisco. The Giants fired out to a 3-0 lead, but the Red Sox scored at least 1 run in each inning from the third through the seventh, and San Francisco was unable to keep up.
Former Red Sox INF Rafael Devers, traded last week from Boston to San Francisco, went hitless in 5 at-bats with a strikeout against his former team. He is hitting just .188 (3-for-16) with 1 double, 1 RBI, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts in 4 games since being acquired.
The Red Sox totaled 11 hits in the series-opening win, led by OF Ceddanne Rafaela and 2B David Hamilton, who combined to go 5-for-8 with 3 runs, 4 RBIs and 2 walks from the bottom of the order. Both homered, including a 2-run shot by Hamilton off Giants SP Hayden Birdsong.
San Francisco had 5 runs and 7 hits, but all of them were singles. 1B Wilmer Flores finished 1-for-5 with an RBI, his 54th of the season. The team was 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position, while the Red Sox were 4-for-8.

Red Sox at Giants picks and predictions
Prediction
Giants 4, Red Sox 3
The GIANTS (-120) are worth a look Saturday afternoon, as they look for the bounce back after losing in Friday’s series opener.
San Francisco is 23-14 at home, but it has dropped 3 of the past 4 at Oracle Park in this current homestand, all in interleague games, so tread lightly.
The Giants +1.5 (-210) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and you cannot bet that straight up if you need insurance. However, if you were to take San Francisco as part of a multi-leg parlay, especially with a boost or promo, it would be OK to include the Giants.
PASS.
UNDER 8 (-118) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at best.
While the Over hit in Friday’s series opener, the Under has cashed in 3 of the Giants’ past 4 games on this homestand and is 5-1 in their last 6 at Oracle Park.
For the Red Sox, the Under is 7-2 in the past 9 games since June 10, and the total has gone low in 2 of the past 3 starts for Bello.
