The Washington Commanders are loading up targets for the sensational Jayden Daniels. On Saturday, the NFC East team acquired the talented Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers.
The price seems middling: a fifth-round draft pick.
This ends Samuel’s time with the 49ers. He was a dual threat for them as a receiver and able to run with the football out of the backfield.
49ers began planning for the real possibility that Deebo Samuel was entering his final season with the team last offseason, when they used the No. 31 pick in the draft to select receiver Ricky Pearsall. In six seasons as a 49er, Samuel caught 334 passes for 4,792 yards. He rushed for 1,143 yards.
Samuel joins Daniels, Terry McLaurin, and others in a high-powered offense as Washington looks to upend the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East.
The 49ers do not play the Commanders in 2025.
