Thrive City, the restaurant and retail area outside the Golden State Warriors’s home at Chase Center, continues to add to its amenities with new restaurants, such as the recent opening of Che Fico Pizzeria, but the latest announcement is a doozy: Splash at Thrive City is an upcoming, two-story sports bar boasting 30,000-square-feet and set to open in early 2025. Kevin Diedrich, owner of Pacific Cocktail Haven and Kona’s Street Market, and bar group Sidecar Hospitality are leading the charge on the cocktail program for Splash’s four bars — yes, count ’em, four bars. A whopping 75 televisions will be installed in the space, along with an 840-square-foot curved LED wall and video ticker displaying the latest sports scores and news, according to a press release.
It will be an indoor-outdoor space, with a 10,000-square-foot outdoor area featuring pet-friendly patios, an outdoor bar, and a large screen to watch the Warriors. There will also be games at the bar complex, including golf swing suites, Pop-A-Shot basketball arcade games, pool, shuffleboard, and foosball. There will be food offerings as well; the press release promises everything from “sports bar classics to upscale comfort food,” but the San Francisco Chronicle reports this means favorites such as pretzels and nachos, plus items like braised short ribs with roasted carrots, plus salads and quinoa bowls. Splash is aiming to open by February, ahead of the 2025 NBA All-Star game at Chase Center.

Chef Chris Bianco takes over Che Fico Pizzeria
Speaking of Thrive City and Che Fico Pizzeria: The newly-opened pizza restaurant is already welcoming a big name in pizza to its Chase Center digs. Chef Chris Bianco of Pizzeria Bianco fame, with locations in Phoenix and Los Angeles, will take over Che Fico Pizzeria on Saturday, October 19, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. (or sold out). There will be a collaborative pizza between Bianco and Che Fico’s David Nayfeld, plus three other pies from Bianco, plus a special menu of salad, antipasti, a sandwich, and two different flavors of soft serve for the occasion. Reservations for the event are available via OpenTable.
Fort Point x Outta Sight’s pizza beer
Beer is a natural pairing with pizza, but now two local experts in both fields have teamed up for a new collab. Fort Point and Outta Sight Pizza are launching a take on an American pilsner dubbed Primo, debuting on Tuesday, October 15, ahead of the opening of Outta Sight’s second location. Drink Primo in 16-ounce cans at the pizza shop or on tap at Fort Point’s three San Francisco locations.
Zanze’s Cheesecakes expands to grocery stores
Zanze’s Cheesecakes has been a local treat for 45 years thanks to former owner Sam Zanze, but now the cheesecakes will be more widely available thanks to a new deal, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The business was purchased by the Duggan family (the family behind Original Joe’s) before Zanze passed away in August, and until Friday, October 11, the cheesecakes have only been available via Original Joe’s and sister restaurants Little Original Joe’s. But now, the cheesecakes will become a staple at Mollie Stone’s locations, which will sell the original flavor of cheesecake, available both frozen or fresh; new flavors of cheesecake, meanwhile, will soon be available at Original Joe’s locations and Little Original Joe’s in West Portal.
