The San Francisco 49ers continue to deal with injuries to their star players. Both Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings are dealing with ailments.

According to the 49ers’ official injury report, Jennings is currently dealing with a hip injury and has not practiced on Wednesday or Thursday. Samuel has a wrist injury and was limited on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Samuel has a better shot at playing if his limited practice status is upgraded to full in the final injury report on Friday. However, Jennings is trending towards missing Week 7.
Losing both will be a huge hit to the 49ers’ offensive attack. Jennings stepped in big time when Samuel was out with a calf strain. He put together impressive performances in Week 3 and Week 4, securing 175 yards against the Los Angeles Rams and 88 yards against the New England Patriots.

Since those breakout games, Jennings has not been as effective. He has only caught four passes for 40 yards in the past two weeks. This hip injury could be what has been slowing him down. Now, it appears he might miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Deebo had an impressive performance in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks, where he brought down three receptions for 102 yards and one touchdown. Now, he might have to skip Week 7 due to a wrist injury.
Losing both Samuel and Jennings in Week 7 would be horrible for the 49ers, as they are set to take on the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are currently 5-0 and are coming off a bye week.
The Chiefs have a big question mark at receiver, as Rashee Rice is out for the season and the team has Xavier Worthy and Juju Smith-Schuster as the main starters. This could be the game in which the 49ers reestablish themselves as the dominant force in the NFC, but losing Samuel and Jennings might impact that chance greatly.
The 49ers are currently 3-3 and have lost to the New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, and Arizona Cardinals — which are three teams they should have easily beaten. Also, losing to two divisional rivals might come back to haunt them down the stretch.

Seattle is currently in second place in the division, but they also have a 3-3 record. The 49ers also have a tough stretch ahead of them. After the Chiefs, they take on the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Losing to the Chiefs will still damage their record, but the 49ers dropping to the Cowboys and Bucs could push them down in a very competitive NFC. Hopefully, Samuel can bounce back enough to suit up Sunday.
