San Francisco will offer “emergency” ballot delivery and pickup for homebound and hospitalized people during the final week before the Nov. 5 election, the Department of Elections said.
Any San Francisco resident who’s hospitalized or can’t travel to vote in person can ask for ballot delivery and pickup by calling the Elections Department at (415) 554-4375 or emailing [email protected].
“Our ballot delivery and pickup program is an essential service,” Director John Arntz said in a press release. “We are grateful to collaborate with local health partners to ensure voters admitted to care facilities have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote, even when their circumstances make it difficult to do so.”
All elections workers involved in ballot deliveries are trained to respect voter privacy and uphold the right to a secret ballot, the department said.
