The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are being put to the test ahead of a Week 11 bye. Coming off a 30-24 overtime loss to the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Buccaneers host the reigning runners-up San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers are 4-4 and tied for second in the NFC West, a familiar feeling for players on the 2022 roster. With a 4-4 start, the 2022 Niners went on to win their final ten regular-season games thanks to the efforts of then-rookie quarterback Brock Purdy.
The Buccaneers and 49ers are both without their top offensive playmakers. The Buccaneers still feel the aftermath of losing Chris Godwin and Mike Evans during a Week 7 competition against the Baltimore Ravens. San Francisco has been without its do-it-all running back, Christian McCaffrey, and they recently lost Brandon Aiyuk to a season-ending ACL tear.
The two teams last met in November 2023 when the 49ers delivered a 27-14 victory at home. The Niners lead the series with a 20-7 record against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay looks to flip the script in Week 10 and finish their first stretch of the season at .500.
The 49ers enter the matchup as 5.5-point favorites, per Bet MGM.
