San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey is officially back. Over the course of Week 10, the reigning AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year had his practice window opened, was activated from the Injured Reserve list and, on Sunday, was officially made active for his first matchup of the 2024 season.
“Just gratitude. Sometimes you take it for granted that you play this game for a living,” McCaffrey said about his return to practice on Monday. “It’s what you do. It’s what you train for, but when it’s taken from you, even just for a little bit of time, it makes you appreciate every single day you are on the grass.”
McCaffrey was sidelined prior to the team’s season opener due to Achilles tendonitis. His return lines up with the 49ers start to the second half of the season which kicks off on the road versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
