Michael Strahan is faced a lot of criticism on social media this week over the way he stood during the national anthem on Sunday for the “NFL on Fox” special Veterans Day broadcast from the San Diego Naval Base.
Strahan’s fellow Fox analysts placed their hand over their hearts while he stood alongside them with his hands clasped in front of him. The brief clip drew outrage from a number of users on X.

A source told the Daily Mail on Monday that there “isn’t going to be any type of punishment or fine going Michael’s way.
“Michael was in the moment and in no way shape or form objecting to the moment at hand. This was an internet controversy that was never in his thoughts to start.”
Strahan grew up in a military family as his father, Major Gene W. Strahan Sr., served in the US Army for 23 years. He posted a tribute to his father on social media on Monday.
“Thank you to all veterans and active service members who courageously risk their lives to protect us every day,” Strahan wrote. “Your selfless service is beyond measure. This is my hero, it is also my father, Maj. Gene W. Strahan, Sr.
“Just as I honor my father, I keep all of you in my thoughts each and every day as we would not have the safety and freedoms we cherish without you. Thank You.”
Strahan, a Hall of Fame pass rusher, was selected by the Giants in the second round of the 1993 draft and spent his entire 15-year career in New York.
