Sondra had been sharing her pregnancy journey on Instagram, showing joy and heartbreak, as she and her son Trenton, diagnosed with Trisomy 13, a rare genetic condition, experienced both joy and heartbreak. “My firstborn and only son, I’ve always wanted you, but God wanted and needed you more,” Sondra wrote.
Sondra expressed her deep sorrow at leaving the hospital and celebrating Thanksgiving without her baby, Trenton, and the loss of his twin sibling earlier in the pregnancy. Despite the pain, she found solace in bonding with her son. “Thank God for allowing us to bond for 35 weeks and for me to birth you so I could hold you in my arms,” she continued. “Although I will never hear your soft coos and cries or see those beautiful little eyes staring up at me, I am grateful to God for the time I shared with you.”
Trent Williams, one of the 49ers’ offensive linemen, was out of the game against the Buffalo Bills due to an ankle injury. His mother, Sondra, said she was thankful for the time she had with him and his twin sister, believing in his protection.
