LA Rams at San Francisco 49ers predictions
The San Francisco 49ers enhanced their playoff aspirations with a Week 14 victory over the Chicago Bears and they can keep alive their hopes of a repeat Super Bowl appearance when they clash with NFC West rivals Los Angeles Rams on Thursday evening.
The Niners desperately needed to beat the Bears and they came out firing, out-gaining their opponents 309-4 in total first-half yards before cruising to a 38-13 triumph.
At 6-7, there are no easy contests left on their schedule – they face the Dolphins, Lions and Cardinals after this Levi’s Stadium clash – and they must finish with four victories to have any shot at another Super Bowl appearance.
Motivation is sky-high and San Francisco look worthy favourites on a short turnaround, particularly with home-field advantage.
The Rams were equally impressive in their thrilling 44-42 win over the Buffalo Bills and their offence is lethal, although they’ve had their challenges against their divisional rivals.
While LA have won the last two meetings – including in the final week of the 2023 regular season when both backup quarterbacks were in action – the 49ers were successful in nine previous regular-season clashes.
There’s also a chance that San Francisco will get back a few of their stars, including Trent Williams, Nick Bosa and Dre Greenlaw, who would all be significant additions if they are available.
The 49ers will be out to avenge that Week Three loss and can win by at least a field goal.
