Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton have been added to the star-studded line-up for this year’s Laver Cup.
Team Europe and Team World go head-to-head in San Francisco, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Zverev – who is the current world No. 2 – joins reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz for Team Europe, while Shelton teams up with last year’s US Open finalist Taylor Fritz.
The American is ranked at No. 13 and will be making his third Laver Cup appearance after reaching his second Grand Slam semi-final at this year’s Australian Open.
Meanwhile, Zverev will be targeting a sixth success in the Laver Cup after victories in Prague (2017), Chicago (2018), Geneva (2019), Boston (2021) and Berlin (2024).
He has moved tantalisingly close to claiming a first Grand Slam title, reaching his third final in a major at this year’s Australian Open, where he lost to Jannik Sinner.
“I love being part of the Laver Cup, being team-mates with some of the greatest players in the world is very special,” said Zverev.

“I’m also really looking forward to San Francisco this year. It is super exciting to be playing at the home of the Golden State Warriors, it will be so cool to play in their arena and experience the atmosphere.”
Speaking about Zverev’s participation, Team Europe captain Yannick Noah said: “Sascha is one of the most consistent and fearless competitors on tour and his experience, leadership and ability to rise to the occasion will be invaluable to us.
“We know how tough Team World will be, especially with the home crowd, but with Sascha and Carlos on our side, we’ll be ready for the challenge.”
Shelton will be competing in his third Laver Cup and is thrilled by the prospect of playing in front of a home crowd in San Francisco.
“Nothing compares to Laver Cup,” he explained. “It’s electric. The team format, the excitement, the fans – it’s next level.
“I’m really excited to be playing my third Laver Cup and first in front of an American crowd, I think it’ll be a pretty cool atmosphere in San Francisco, and we are pumped and super motivated to win back the Laver Cup!”

Eight-time Grand Slam champion Andre Agassi will lead Team USA and he praised Shelton for his fine progress in 2025.
“Laver Cup brings out the best in players – it’s high stakes, high intensity and full of drama,” he added.
“Ben is an explosive talent and thrives in this team environment. He’s had a strong start to the season, and I’m focused on building a team that will be ready to take on Europe in September!”
The three highest-ranked ATP singles players from Europe and the world – on the Monday after Roland-Garros – will automatically receive an invitation to take part in the competition.
If any of these players decline their invitation, then another high-ranked player will be asked to take their place.
The remaining three spots are categorised under ‘Captain’s Picks’, which Noah and Agassi have already used if both players do not qualify based on their respective rankings.
